U.S. NAVY WET WEATHER PARKA – QM PROPS

The jacket was issued to U.S. Navy personnel as a wet weather garment.  Also used by Landing Craft crews and anywhere where protection against the elements was needed.  It was made from a resin coated material and had ‘U.S.N.’ stencilled in black on the left breast.  During the D-Day operations the navy over-stencilled a larger WHITE ‘U.S.N.’ to improve visual identification of personnel.
