GERMAN WW1 SOLDIERS PICKELHAUBE – QM PROPS

This a plastic copy of the style of Pickelhaube worn by German soldiers at the outbreak of the First World War.

It was a leather helmet with a brass spike on the top.

This example is covered with the cloth cover, with the regimental number sewn to the front.  This was adopted to conceal the bright trimmings and make it less conspicuous in the trenches.
